Read more here: https://www.politico.com/story/2018/0... "Former Donald Trump campaign deputy Rick Gates is quickly discovering that cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller has its advantages.
The lead Russia investigator asked a federal court in Alexandria, Virginia Tuesday to dismiss a series of criminal charges against Gates, including tax and bank fraud, in exchange for his guilty plea and testimony in the wider probe into the 2016 presidential election.
Gates also secured another win on Tuesday when a different judge granted his request to take his children to Boston next week for their spring break — well outside the 110-mile corridor between his home in Richmond and Washington that he’d previously been confined to for his travels. The additional leniency comes after Gates agreed to a plea deal last Friday with Mueller that stipulates he must cooperate “in any and all matters” that the special counsel’s office decides are “relevant.”
Gates likely can help the government in its prosecution of his longtime business partner Paul Manafort, the former Trump campaign chairman who is fighting Mueller’s indictments for money laundering, failing to register as an agent of a foreign government, and bank and tax fraud.”*

Jeff Sessions blames Colorado Senator for stalling GOP over federal marijuana laws

In this Feb. 12, 2018, photo, Attorney General Jeff Sessions waits onstage to address the National Sheriffs' Association Winter Conference on law enforcement efforts to combat the opioid crisis and violent crime, in Washington. The sudden departure of the Justice Department’s No. 3 official is adding to the turmoil at an agency that already lacks permanent, politically appointed leaders over many of its most important divisions. WASHINGTON  — The sudden departure of the Justice Department’s No. 3 official is adding to the turmoil at an agency that already lacks permanent, politically appointed leaders for many of its most important divisions.

Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand’s (top left) resignation builds on an unusual problem that has contributed to instability in the department, current and former officials say, and has prevented the Trump administration from fully implementing its agenda more than a year after Attorney General Jeff Sessions took office.

Sessions lamented situation Monday, blaming a single Republican senator for holding up the confirmations of key figures, including the heads of the department’s national security, criminal and civil rights divisions. While not mentioning him by name, Sessions left no doubt he was referring to Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado, who promised to prevent the confirmation of all Justice Department nominees after Sessions lifted Obama-era protections for states that have legalized marijuana.

Gardner continues to block the confirmations in protest, his spokesman confirmed Monday night.

Some of President Donald Trump’s Justice Department nominees have been in limbo for months as they go through a drawn-out confirmation process that has been aggravated by Gardner’s resistance.

That might be less surprising if Congress were controlled by Democrats. But it’s unusual to see a Republican blocking his own president’s nominee.

“It’s getting frustrating,” Sessions told a friendly crowd at a gathering of the National Sheriff’s Association. “These are critically important components … But because right now one senator’s concerns over unrelated issues — like reversing federal law against marijuana — we can’t even get a vote.”

Brand announced Friday she was leaving for a top legal job at Walmart after less than nine months overseeing some of the department’s most politically challenging areas, including its civil rights, antitrust and civil rights divisions. She cited an a opportunity in the private sector she could not turn down, which pays considerably more than a job in government.

But her time at the Justice Department had no doubt been difficult, especially with the staffing shortages. And her tenure came as the institution is under extraordinary criticism from Trump, which has strained morale. Her job also had the prospect of becoming even more difficult because she would have been in line to oversee special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe if Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had resigned, been fired or otherwise stepped aside.

The process to nominate and confirm Brand’s replacement will take months.

Eight key positions lack Senate-confirmed leaders, including four that were overseen by Brand. Also awaiting confirmation is John Demers, Trump’s choice to lead the national security division responsible for terrorism and espionage cases. The post is critical, in part because only officials with Senate approval can sign warrants for foreign surveillance, an essential duty for the head of the national security division.

Twelve of Trump’s 58 U.S. attorney picks still await confirmation, and dozens more have yet to be nominated. Some divisions have seen more than one acting leader in the course of just a few months. They have been briefing Congress and giving news conferences. That can be problematic, said Peter Keisler, who served as acting attorney general under President George W. Bush when Alberto Gonzales resigned from that job.

“The reality is that if someone is perceived as temporary and doesn’t have the full legitimacy that comes with Senate confirmation, they are less able to successfully advocate the interests and positions of their agency to the rest of the government,” Keisler said.

Other impacts of the vacancies are less obvious. Leaders serving in acting capacities are less likely to make wide-reaching policy changes for fear they’ll be overturned once a permanent head is in place. That matters, as Sessions and Trump continue to try to roll out an ambitious agenda that targets urban crime and illegal immigration.

“You can keep the ship steering on the same course it has been on, but it’s really hard to react to emerging problems,” said Joyce Vance, a former U.S. attorney in Alabama who worked under the Obama administration. “There’s a sense that everything is temporary. There’s uncertainty.”

Gardner Defends States’ Rights on Senate Floor

As a Native Coloradan and a for the most part left leaning individual, I do give a Tip of the Hat to Cory Gardner, and Well, you know for Jeff Sessions, Ok Ok, you took it out of me, I think he is a Douche Nozzle, much like Phrump's cabinet who have fallen short of even being confirmed... What's your take, do states rights matter these days, I think if Phrumpies overall blanket for his tax scheme matters, so do state rights, so I ask are we soon to be the United Seperated States of America or do we stand as one, not including Kaepernick... Oh, and I think Walmart must really pay their folks quite Well, other than their regular employees, if you remember right or correctly, another Douche Nozzle also served on their board, just saying...

Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton (left)Has Parkinson's Disease We just got a press release this morning stating that the longtime guitarist for the band was first diagnosed with the early stages of Parkinson's 10 years ago. It reads, “from then until recently Glenn has lived his life as the great heavy metal guitar player he has always been, maintaining by his own definition a standard of quality and performance that is incredibly important.
Right now Glenn is able to play and perform some of the Priest songs that are less challenging but due to the nature of Parkinson's progression he wants to let you all know that he won't be touring as such -
True to the metal spirit of 'the show must go on' Glenn has requested Andy Sneap to fly the flag on stage for him.
“I want everyone to know that it’s vital that the Judas Priest tour go ahead and that I am not leaving the band - it’s simply that my role has changed. I don’t rule out the chance to go on stage as and when I feel able to blast out some Priest! So at some point in the not too distant future I’m really looking forward to seeing all of our wonderful metal maniacs once again.
Rob, Richie, Ian and Scott have this to say:
“We have been privileged to witness Glenn’s determination and steadfast commitment over the years, showing his passion and self belief through the writing, recording and performing sessions with Priest - he is a true metal hero!
We are not surprised by Glenn’s insistence that we complete the Firepower tour and thank Andy for joining us to make Glenn’s wishes become real - as Glenn has said we also can’t wait to have him with us at any time any place on the road.....
"We love you Glenn!”

Breaking: US-Backed Free Syrian Army Group Shoots Down Russian Jet, Kills Pilot

The Jaysh al-Nasr rebel group in Syria, part of the US-backed Free Syrian Army, has posted footage of its fighters celebrating the shoot-down of a Russian Suhkoi-25 jet fighter in the Idlib province of Syria. It is the first time a Russian fighter has been shot down by Syrian rebels attempting to overthrow the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

The plane was apparently brought down by a man-portable air defense system (ManPADS) surface-to-air missile. According to press reports, the pilot ejected from the plane safely but was killed by the Syrian rebels on the ground.

The 2017 US military spending bill provided authorization for the Department of Defense to arm the rebels with shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles or ManPADS. At the time, the Russians vigorously objected to the dramatic US move to provide sophisticated weaponry to the rebels, claiming (rightfully it turns out) that “[t]he relevant decision also poses a direct threat to aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces…”

The scenario where a US-backed, US-supplied jihadist group in Syria uses US weapons to shoot down a Russian plane and then murders the pilot on the ground should be seen as a near-nightmare escalation, drawing the US and Russia terrifyingly closer to direct conflict.

Now this is all very Interesting to me, as I have heard very little of this news on American media channels, but Wait, There's More!!! I probably did not catch the follow up here as I do not watch Fox News...

Ok, so now we have seen the retaliation video, but let me ask you this, why is the Pentagon saying this??? Click link below this comment...

No anti-aircraft weapons sent to 'our' Syrian rebels – Pentagon after downing of Russian jet

So, someone is either Lying or not telling the Truth, Geee I wonder who that could be, What are your thoughts???

Mental exam ordered for suspect in Colorado Walmart triple slaying

DENVER (Reuters) - A man who police said fatally shot three people at random inside a Denver-area Walmart in November was ordered on Wednesday to undergo a competency evaluation to determine if he is fit to stand trial, prosecutors said.

Adams County District Judge Ted Tow granted a request by lawyers for Scott Allen Ostrem to have him mentally evaluated, a spokeswoman for District Attorney Dave Young said in a statement.

Ostrem’s lawyers declined to comment on the case.

Ostrem, 47, who has been held without bond since his arrest, is charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder and 30 counts of attempted murder for the shooting spree inside a Walmart in the Denver suburb of Thornton.

Police said Ostrem walked “nonchalantly” into the store and opened fire, killing Pamela Marques, 52, Carlos Moreno, 66 and Victor Vasquez, 26.

No other shoppers or workers were injured in the shooting, but prosecutors charged him with attempted murder for discharging his weapon inside the crowded store with “extreme indifference.”
Ostrem fled the scene and was arrested outside his suburban Denver apartment the following day after authorities identified him and his car from images captured by the store’s surveillance cameras.

Young told Reuters after an earlier court hearing that he would take into account the wishes of the victims’ families, among other considerations, before deciding whether to pursue capital punishment in the case.

Separately, Ostrem has asked the judge to have his lawyers removed from the case so he can represent himself, a court official said.

Under Colorado’s competency statute, a judge must make a legal finding on whether a defendant is fit to stand trial after mental health professionals conduct an examination.

Another accused Colorado gunman, Robert Dear, who is charged with shooting three people to death at a Planned Parenthood clinic in 2015, was deemed mentally unfit to stand trial after going through the competency process.

The Colorado Court of Appeals this month upheld a lower court’s ruling that authorities could forcibly medicate Dear in an effort to restore him to competency.

Ostrem is due back in court in April for a review hearing, the district attorney’s office said.

Ya know this article really brings out the best or worse of how to treat these reckless criminals, Me I am all for public executions, I see it as a cure to those who seek to do harm to others for no other reason than the Voices in their heads, I want public visual of the cost of one's crimes and could give a Hefty Shit about wasting my and fellow Coloradans on housing these cretins on the public's tax dollars, some say: Intravenous application is inhumane... I ask: and how the Fuck do you feel about the families this demon, whose lives have been changed forever feel!!! Should we go back to public hanging or execution by gun fire??? Either way, I think it is time to show these Lunatics what their final solution will be, and yes, for Friends and Family as well as those whose lives have changed forever get to see the last Punishment of those who have served their fellow citizens in an unmost practical manner... Take Nathan Dunlap for instance, this Piece of Shit has been on death row for what 18 years??? My Tax Dollars at work??? Fuck That!!! A bullet in his head would have saved the people of Colorado MILLIONS other than to house this Criminal POS!!!

Sometimes it seems that politics can change the news at Hand???

So I ask, what is Your opinion???
