A govenment of the people, by the people, for the people is not a two-party plutocracy where corporations and the uber-wealthy control the government and control the very narrative we hear every day. It's a war between personal freedom and liberty versus authoritarianism and tyranny.
Late last week at the Pray Vote Stand Summit in Washington, DC, Donald Trump gave a speech where he attempted to attack President Biden for his competency, as Trump, uh, says, lack of mental competency. Trump has been saying for a while now that Biden is mentally incompetent. And if you're gonna be throwing those charges against your rival, you gotta make sure that you don't make any mistakes that are going to call into question your own mental competency.
Unfortunately, for Donald Trump, that is exactly what he did in that speech on Friday. And ever since then, people have been posting on social media that clearly Donald Trump is not mentally competent enough to be president of the United States. He began by saying this. We have a man who is totally corrupt and the worst president in the history of our country, who is cognitively impaired in no condition to lead, and is now in charge of dealing with Russia and possible nuclear war.
Just think of it, we could be in World War II very quickly. If we're going to be relying on this man in is far more devastating than any war, there will be a war if that happens. There will never be a war like this. It will obliterate everything there is everybody, it will obliterate every country. So he kind of just starts rambling there, like it'll be a war, a big war, bad war, war that kills everybody. Everybody's gonna die in the war. Just repeating himself in different phrasing for World War II.
World War II. Biden is leading us into World War II, which begs the question, where the hell is the time machine? Right? I mean, if Biden is like America, we're going to World War II, then we all better hop on the Magic school bus because that's about the only way we're gonna get there.
So yeah, that's, that's a pretty big gaffe, a gaffe that he didn't catch. But hey, listen, you know, sometimes people mis make mistakes, right? I do this every day. I talk every day. Trust me, there's plenty of mistakes. But when, when something like that happens, I'll, I'll correct it. I won't just continue on and be like, uh, yeah, so I messed up. But that guy's totally mentally incompetent. Like, no, you've gotta be flawless if you are calling out somebody else's mental competency. But that wasn't the only part of it. Donald Trump then said that he is and that he beat Obama very badly in 2016. beating Obama very badly in the polls right now,
Now, for those keeping track at home, uh, president Obama did not run for office in 2016. He was in fact, term limited. And because of that, he is also not running for president in 2024. But Trump's beating him badly, he says, so Trump is bragging about beating somebody
Who wasn't running in either of those elections, somebody he's actually never run against. And he has the audacity to say that Biden is the one that is mentally incompetent. And here's the thing.
You know, polls came out last week, you know, majority of voters like, yeah, Trump's too old too. So Trump has been on this kick trying to be like, no, no, no, no, it's not the age, it's the mental competency. He has, of course, brought back up the fact that he, as he puts it, aced his mental competency test the person, man, woman, camera, TV thing. Um, but Biden's mentally incompetent. 'cause he is trying to distinguish like.
Well Shit, Why tax the American people for a Crime he has already Admitted to.?
Trump Just Guaranteed That He's Going To Be Found Guilty
Laurence Tribe and former Judge
Michael Luttig
write this, quote. "The former President's efforts
to overturn the 2020
presidential election
and the resulting attack on the
Capitol, placed him
squarely
within the ambit of the Constitutional
disqualification clause.
And he is therefore ineligible
to serve as President ever again!"
And Professor
Laurence Tribe
and Judge Michael Luttig
join me now to talk about this.
Gentlemen, it's it's a real Honor
to have you both on at the same
time, Thanks so much for doing this.
Your argument
just to explain this to our viewers is
Essentially,
it comes down to these two sentences
in the Constitution's 14th amendment (section 3).
No person shall be a senator
or representative
in Congress or elector or President
and Vice President,
who having previously taken
an oath
as an officer
of the United States to support the Constitution of the United States,
shall have engaged
in insurrection
or rebellion
against the same
or giving aid or comfort to the
enemies thereof.
I'm proud of myself,
first of
all, for getting through all of
that without messing that up.
But let me go to both of you
on this gentleman.
How is this going to work?
Because Donald Trump is not going to say: You got me, I'm disqualified.
Judge, I'll let you go first.
And then the professor. Jim, thank you for having us
on this afternoon.
Professor Tribe
is the most celebrated
constitutional mind in America,
and deservedly so.
And he has been that for the past
four decades.
Professor Tribe has been studying
the Constitution
and even the disqualification
clause of the 14th Amendment.
His entire illustrious career.
I first began to think seriously
about the 14th Amendment
disqualification clause
only two years ago in January of 2021.
But I quickly came to the same conclusion
that Professor Tribe
had come to many years before that.
And then in the two years
between January 6th and today,
Professor Tribe
and I have been discussing
the disqualification
clause and the possible disqualification
of the former President privately
between ourselves, that
what has brought our article forth
is some magnificent scholarship
by professors Baude and Paulson
that is forthcoming and a law review
from the University of Pennsylvania.
Their monumentally
important contribution
that they have made
is that they have demonstrated
that what might have been is not.
Which is to say this
section three of the 14th Amendment
means exactly what it plainly
and clearly says
specifically as you just read.
Yeah.
Any person who previously has taken
the oath of office to Support and Defend
the Constitution of the United States
and who then engages in insurrection
or rebellion against the United States
and the Constitution of the United States
shall not thereafter hold.
In this instance,
the office
of the Presidency of the United
States that language in the Constitution, Jim, simply could not be any clearer
It is unmistakable
in its application
to the former president.
The only thing that was not known
professors Bawd and Paulson did
their scholarly work is whether
this was the actual meaning
under the original
understanding of the Constitution.
And the professors confirmed
and demonstrated that indeed it was.
And so, Professor Tribe,
an honor to have you on as well.
Does that mean that
Trump is essentially right now
automatically disqualified? That he shouldn't
be allowed on ballots and so on?
Jim, what it means
and it's a great honor
to be on with the distinguished
justly celebrated judge Luttig.
What it means
is that secretaries of state
or other officials
who are responsible
for deciding who is qualified
and who is not
will have to determine whether,
despite his obvious attempt to overturn
the 2020 election and engage
in insurrection,
whether despite that,
somehow Trump gets to run.
Secretaries of state around
the country are going to go
both ways on that.
The red ones may go
one way in the blue another,
although I would hope
that partizan politics wouldn't
always determine it.
But whichever way they go,
they will be challenged in court
and that will end up
in the Supreme Court.
And what it will have to decide
is what this language means.
It's pretty obvious what it says
In fact, when it was written,
Abraham Lincoln was no longer President.
We had a president who didn't be
in the 14th Amendment Andrew Jackson.
They weren't going to rely on him
and his Justice Department
to decide
who should be convicted of insurrection.
That's beside the point.
So it's important
to see what happens in all of these
91 pending charges of crime against the
former President.
But whatever happens in those cases
this disqualification,
like the disqualification of someone,
who was not a natural born citizen
or the disqualification of someone
who doesn't meet the age
limits has got to be enforced
according to its terms.
For a very long
time, Americans
didn't take this seriously.
But now the scholars
have begun to look at it.
And as the judge says,
I've looked at it for a long time
It's impossible to disregard.
We have a former President
who has proudly said that
he would terminate the Constitution.
That was his language.
He would terminate if necessary.
To hold on to power.
How can he
say that and take the oath
to uphold the Constitution?
This is going to end up
in the Supreme Court.
It's a monumental issue.
The most important
constitutional issue of our day.
And people have got to get used
to the fact
that whatever
happens in these very important
trials of the President
under the Constitution's own language,
he's simply
not eligible to be president again.
Now, of course, when you asked
is he going to say, you got me
The answer is No.
He never says you got me. He won't say that
even if he's
convicted of all the crimes available
but it's not up to him.
Wake up, Mr.
Trump. It's not up to you.
It is up
to the Supreme Court of the United States
reviewing with the secretaries
of state, determine
and they take an oath
to uphold the Constitution.
And the Constitution
tells them
that an insurrectionist
who tried to overturn
the country's Constitution
cannot be Entrusted
with protecting it in the future
So stay tuned.
This is going to be a saga
that lasts between now and the election.
I think this is very Important to be talking about... I will give a Thumbs up to Asa Hutchinson for at least having the B@lls to Mention It, now we need to spread the Truth. Yup, up to Me and You!!! So what are Your thoughts.?
Personally if this is True, which any layman can clearly read, somebody better tell Donnie he is wasting his Money and our Time!!! I am guessing Donnie will face two more Indictments, one for Arizona and if Cannon keeps monkeying around, I see Jack Smith setting another from New Jersey... I am not throwing my hat in the Ring for Biden but would Vote in Favor of Michelle Obama, what's your Take...?

That is not leadership everybody, that is
a failure of leadership
and I. You can boo all you want! But here's the thing
our faith teaches us. That people have to take responsibility
for what they do, people have to stand up
and take accountability for what they do!
That's Republican presidential candidate
Chris Christie bluntly criticizing
Donald Trump before a skeptical crowd of
social conservatives at the Faith and Freedom conference in Washington. The
former New Jersey governor and former
ABC News contributor joins us now.
Uh,
Governor Christie I want to get to that
in a minute but first you heard
secretary Blinken, talking about the
situation in Moscow. There's a lot that
the United States just doesn't know
about what is going down. How would a President Christie be handling this
situation?
Well here's what we do know John, what we
do know is that
America's support along with our allies
in NATO of Ukraine has done a great deal
to cause what we're seeing right now,
um in Russia uh Putin's misadventure uh
and all the missteps that happen by the
body Administration the Trump
Administration and the Obama
Administration on this issue have led to
this moment and I think you have to
watch this very carefully, but we have to
continue to support Ukraine. We have to
give them the weapons they need to fight
their battle against the Russians and to
repel them uh and I think that what this
may do John is move us closer to a
resolution of this battle uh because of
Putin's weakness that's obvious now
inside his own country.
I think in large
part because of the way he has
prosecuted this war as you know there
are increasingly loud voices within the
Republican Party calling for the United
States to stop aiding Ukraine.
What's
your message? Including some of your
opponents, what's your message to them in
light of all this
that America has never been a great
country and the leader of the World by
filling in the moat and pulling up the
drawbridge?
Um you know, we need to make sure that
we're engaged because believe me this is
the first fight in the proxy war with
China. China is funding this war for
Russia by buying Russian oil and they
are saying very clearly that there is no
limit to the partnership between Russia
and China. We need to make sure that we
continue to engage in this way, we do not
want a world that is dominated by
communist China, and so this is a fight
that America needs to have. It always
involves sacrifice but in the end at the
end of this sacrifice I am absolutely a
believer in the fact that America will
be bigger stronger richer and more
influential in the world because we
stood by our principles and stood by our
friends.
All right we heard the reaction
to your speech at the Faith and Freedom
conference I assume you well knew you
were going to get booed when you started
slamming Donald Trump's leadership? I did
hear some Applause in that crowd as well
but the boo's were loud. What what's your
saying, say is the Anti-Trump message, is
there any evidence that it's resonating
absolutely?
Evidence is resonating
Jonathan, in the in the race for less
than three weeks and I'm already in
third place in New Hampshire, only four
points behind Ron DeSantis who's been in
the race for a longer time and is
supposed to be the co-front runner. Uh
look uh people understand that folks
need to take responsibility for what
they do and my message to the folks at
Faith and Freedom which did get some
good reaction too, but of course I
expected the boo's!
That is predominantly
a Trump crowd, but they need to hear the
truth too, that you know character is the
single most important element of a President of the United States, because
you can't know every uh every issue
that's going to come across a President's desk it's not a litmus test! With check boxes are in them what you
need to know is what is the character of
that person and frankly when I, I
listened to Donald Trump's speech last
night and he had the audacity to say
that he got indicted for us!?
Now I don't know how it benefited the
American people for him to take highly
sensitive intelligence and secret
documents out of the White House. To
Stonewall the government on returning
them for over a year and a half to
subject himself to a raid by the FBI
even though they had asked them
voluntarily to return this stuff! Um and
um to then be subject to an indictment
which is obviously going to be one of
great trouble for the country, because no
one wants to see this happen. Donald
Trump says that's for us?
I mean it's it's absurd uh the same way
he has absurdly claimed in the last week
that he still won the 2020 election and
he said that's how he's going to
persuade Suburban female voters to vote
for him in 2024? That didn't vote for him
at 20.
Look this guy lost in 18 he lost
the Senate and the White House in 20.
the house in 18. he lost two more
governorships in the senate race in 2022
he is a three-time loser!
We do not need
our party to go to a fourth loss because
Joe Biden in my opinion John is an awful President and we can't afford to have
him from age 82 to 86 in the White House
or even worse have Kamala Harris assume
the presidency! That's the stakes here
it's not about whether you think Donald
Trump has been treated Fairly or Not by
the media or by elements of the Justice Department! It is about whether he is a
man of character! Who can lead this party
to Victory and I don't believe he can!
I think we know where you stand, uh let
me ask you before you go the question of
abortion yesterday, of course was the one
year anniversary of the repeal of Roe.
DeSantis of course signed into law
six-month abortion ban. Your position as
I understand it, is the states uh should
decide. Do you think that's six-month
abortion ban uh makes DeSantis
unelectable in a general election?
I think it's a six weeks sorry six weeks
six weeks Excuse me yes the six week
abortion ban, yeah six week abortions?
Yes,
look John, conservatives like me for the
last 50 years have been arguing this is
not a federal issue it's a state issue
and it's something the state should
decide. The Dobbs case one year ago gave
us the opportunity to let each state
make this decision and what I hope to
see is that with each of the 50 states
but more importantly the people of each
of the 50 states deciding this issue. We
then could see a national consensus
develop if the national consensus
develops I have no problem with the
federal government then stepping in and
confirming that National consensus but I
think we should allow the states and the
people of the states to be heard on this
issue, it's an incredibly important issue
John. I'm pro-life I've always been
pro-life with exceptions for rape incest
and life of the mother and I remain
pro-life and was a pro-life governor of
a very blue State and was elected twice,
but these are the kind of issues we need
to we need to be discussing on the
debate stage on August 23rd and as you
know
um the RNC has said you need 40 000
donors to get on that stage so anybody
who is listening this morning go to
chrischristy.com donate a dollar make
sure we have these debates and the
debate like I had at Faith and Freedom! We need to do that John!
All right
Governor Christie thank you good to have
you on this week take care.
